Cont Ext is a project which attempts to challenge rules in classic sound mixing techniques. Limitations historically have forced engineers to create a coherent sonic panorama based in a sort of a sound illusion which tricks humans as listeners to imagine sounds located in an immediate imaginary space. This phenomenon has generated different mixing tendencies and trends which due to a fidelity with our perception of a real sonic panorama follow certain rules or canons based on the efficiency of representation.
“Con / eixeMent” is the first solo release by the project Cont Ext and it’s inspired by the phenomenon known as semantic satiation.
